YAP Ireland Team

Siobhán O'Dwyer

CEO

Siobhán qualified from Trinity College Dublin as a Social Worker in 1988. She has previously worked as a Senior Manager and Social Worker in London, Dublin and Belfast.  During her career Siobhán has worked with children and families in the community and voluntary and statutory sector. Siobhán was appointed as CEO of YAP Ireland in 2008 and in 2009 oversaw the setting up of YAP Ireland as a registered charity managed by a Board of Directors. 

Yvonne Coyne

Director of Services

Yvonne qualified in social psychology and sociology from university of Ulster in 1995.  She has over 18 years experience working in a child protection and family support setting 11 years at a senior management level. In 2006 Yvonne completed her Masters in family support from NUI Galway and became Director of Services with YAP Ireland in 2008. She is responsible for providing strategic leadership and operational management to the organisation working together with the CEO.

Yvonne used to have a variety of interests including running, surfing, socialising and fanatical GAA follower (well she is from Mayo), but with the arrival of twin girls Ellie and Abbie in 2012, all the above interests have taken a back seat! 

Qaasim Abdul

Finance Manager

Qaasim H Abdul was appointed Finance Manager as of November 2013. Prior to that Qaasim worked with Focus Ireland from 2004 to 2013 as Management Accountant after moving back to Ireland having completed his Accounting & Banking studies in London, UK and gaining his ACCA in Dublin. He will also oversee the Management of IT Services with YAP Ireland. Qaasim is actively involved in the community on a wide range of projects and activities on a voluntary basis.

His spare time revolves around spending time with family, a keen sports enthusiast and loves football and fishing.

Sandra Duff

Director of Support Services

Sandra joined YAP in 2008 following a 10 year stretch in Telecommunications. Sandra has over 15 years management experience and heads up a brilliant Support Services Team. Together they have responsibility for areas such as Human Resources & Recruitment, Communications & Fundraising, Payroll, Data Management, Web Administration, Event Management and Health & Safety.

In her spare time Sandra enjoys cycling, swimming, hill walking and secretly performing duets with Tom Waits in her car. Sandra is located in YAP Head Office.

Karen Nulty

Data Resources Administrator

Karen is a member of the support services team based in the Meath office and specialises in a variety of roles including Research, On-call management and Event management. She has been with YAP since March 2007 and prior to joining YAP Karen previously worked in the travel industry making great use of her love of travel.

Karen’s globetrotting is funded almost exclusively by selling her home video of the world’s longest chicken flight to a Hollywood studio in 1997.

Barbara Finnan

Data Resources Administrator

Barbara is based in the Limerick office and specialises in Website and CRM administration/development.  She has many years’ experience in the community, voluntary and private sectors and has been with YAP since 2008.

In her spare time Barbara enjoys reading, walking, traveling to exotic locations and watching films, especially superhero movies. 

Celine Ryan

Payroll / Finance Administrator

Celine has been with YAP since 2010 and is a member of support services team, specialising in payroll and finance. Based in the Dublin office, Celine has a wealth of experience in payroll, taxation and finance comprising many years in both private and community sectors.

Alongside a talent for numbers, Celine is currently working on her autobiographical adaptation of ‘The Quiet Man’.

Leon Richardson

Human Resources Administrator

Leon works as the Human Resource Administrator and is a member of the Support Services team based in the Dublin office.  Prior to joining YAP he has volunteered with a variety of different organisations within the community and voluntary sector. 

In his spare time Leon enjoys cycling, running, following most sports and music.

Eoghan Coleman

Communications & Fundraising Administrator

Eoghan is a member of the Support Services team based in the Dublin office and specialises in Multimedia & Recruitment & Selection. With YAP since 2012, he has many years’ experience in the non-profit and voluntary sectors.

In his spare time he enjoys reading, travelling, art, surfing, gaming and playing GAA & Soccer. Hailing from Mayo, his immovable belief that Sam is ‘coming home’ (every year) is commendable. This ties in nicely with his reputation as the comedian in the Dublin office.

Jennifer King

Human Resources Administrator

Jennifer has been with the Support Services Team since February 2014 as a locum Administrator, before coming to YAP full-time in December 2014.  Jennifer is based in the Dublin office and specialises in a variety of roles including Research, On-call management, Communications and Fundraising and Event management. Prior to joining YAP Jennifer previously worked in the financial sector for a number of years.

In her spare time Jennifer likes nothing more than socializing with family and friends, travelling(mainly to London), keeping fit and having fun !

 

Deirdre Graham

Data Resources Administrator

Deirdre joined the YAP team in March 2016. Prior to joining YAP, Deirdre has worked in the non for profit sector and has volunteered with a number of organisations. Deirdre is also a qualified yoga teacher and has offered classes in various studios and gyms around Dublin. As well as pursing her ambition to hold the perfect handstand, she enjoys cycling, tennis, gym and going to festivals and concerts. 

 

Joan King

Service Manager Dublin / North East Region

Joan is the Service Manager for the Dublin/North East region. Previously a Team Leader in Dublin North, she initially worked as an advocate for two years prior to coming to work full-time with YAP. Joan has worked in schools for over 10 years, mainly in the area of Relationships and Sexuality and has also worked in private practice, counseling families and young people. Joan states the she has loved her role with YAP from day one and ‘likes being a part of the great changes young people and families make in their lives, alongside enjoyment in sharing their sense of achievement and happiness.’

In Joan’s spare time she likes to hang out with her daughters and son, going out to eat, going to the cinema or sitting around looking at funny video clips. She also likes walking, keeping fit and talking constantly!

Jenny Culhane

Team Leader

Jenny worked as an Advocate with YAP before taking up the position of Locum Team Leader in November 2015. In January 2016 Jenny accepted a full time position as Team Leader. Jenny is responsible for service delivery in the Dublin North region and for the direct line management of Advocates. 

Avril McKenna

Team Leader

Avril took up the position of Team Leader in  February 2016. Avril is responsible for service delivery in the Dublin North East region and for the direct line management of Advocates. 

Natasha Fahy

Team Leader

Natasha joined YAP as a Team Leader in February 2016. She is responsible for the service delivery in the Dublin North East Region and for the direct line management of Advocates. Natasha holds a BA Honours Degree in Applied Social Studies in Social Care and has over ten years’ experience working with vulnerable young people primarily in residential care.

Natasha enjoys going to the gym and socializing with family and friends. Her favourite hobby is hopping on a plane and escaping to the sunshine. 

Aine Donaghy

Team Leader

Aine is a Team Leader in the Dublin North area and joined YAP in November 2016. Aine is responsible for service delivery in Dublin North area and for the direct line management of Advocates.

Tara Farley

Locum Team Leader

Tara worked as an Advocate with YAP in the past and also worked for TUSLA as a Social Worker before taking the position of Locum Team Leader in March 2017. Tara is responsible for service delivery in the Dublin North region and for the direct line management of Advocates. 

Pamela Storey

Team Leader

Pamela, with YAP since 2006, is a Team Leader based in the Louth office. Pamela looks after both main programme and family support cases and is involved in the Parent Participation Group.

In her spare time her favourite hobby is watching rugby and she attends all the Leinster home matches in the RDS hail, rain or snow. She has recently discovered a liking for fishing so watch this space!

Donna Brazier

Team Leader

Donna joined YAP in March 2015 as a team Leader. Donna is responsible for service delivery in the Louth region and for the direct line management of Advocates. 

Amy Walsh

Service Manager Dublin / Mid Leinster Region

Amy is the Service Manager for the Dublin / Mid Leinster region. Amy joined YAP as Team Leader in 2014 before taking up her current position in January 2017. Amy holds a master's in psychology (behaviour analysis) and has extensive experience working with children and families.

In her spare time Amy likes nothing more than to socialize with friends and to travel as often as she can.

Aisling Madden Nodwell

Acting Service Manager Dublin / Mid Leinster Region

Aisling Madden Nodwell joined YAP in May 2017 as Acting Service Manager for the Dublin/Mid Leinster region.

Fiona Murphy

Team Leader

Fiona has been with YAP since January 2013 and is based in the Dublin office. She has worked in the Social Care Sector since 2001 and the vast majority of her experience is with young people living in residential care.

Fiona used to enjoy socialising and traveling until she had her two boys. She now spends her weekends hanging out in playgrounds and similar locations. Fiona hails from the West, more specifically from Mayo. She is often heard saying ‘this is our year’ however she really, really believes that this is our year.

Karen Costello

Team Leader

Karen joined YAP in April 2014 and is based in the Dublin office. She is part of the South Dublin team and is responsible for service delivery as well as direct management of advocates.

Karen has over 10 years experience working with vulnerable children and young people in a wide range of settings. She has also worked with a variety of organisations that support families and individuals in the community. Karen holds an honors degree in Behavioural Science (Psychology) and a Masters in Behaviour Analysis.

Miriam Schweigard

Team Leader

Miriam joined YAP in May 2015. She is responsible for service delivery in the Dublin South region and for the direct line management of Advocates. She has over ten years’ experience working with vulnerable young people and their families in a range of different settings, mainly the community and voluntary sector. 

Originally from Munich (Germany) she has lived in Ireland for nearly ten years. She is a big fan of good food, fine books and music. 

Stephanie Reardon

Team Leader

Stephanie took up the position of Team Leader in October 2016. Stephanie is responsible for service delivery in the Dublin North City region and for the direct line management of Advocates.

Andrew Chapple

Service Manager West / Mid-West Region

Andrew joined YAP in 2010 as a Case Manager before taking on the role of Service Manager for this region in January 2013. He is responsible for service delivery in Galway, Roscommon, Mayo, Midlands, Meath, Cavan & Monaghan areas and is based in the Galway office. He has extensive experience in the youth and community sectors numbering many years including working in South Africa on community projects for over a year.

Andrew is very much a music aficionado and despite repeated attempts to build a tribute band honouring The Band, no-one is biting.

Susan McKenna

Team Leader

Susan has been with YAP since 2010 firstly working as an Advocate before joining YAP full-time. As a Team Leader Susan is responsible for service delivery in the Galway/ Roscommon area and for the direct line management of Advocates. Susan is based in the Galway Office.

Cliona Hegarty

Team Leader

Cliona joined YAP in May 2015 as a Team Leader. Cliona is responsible for service delivery in the Galway/ Roscommon area and for the direct line management of Advocates. Cliona is based in the Galway Office.

Liz Fogarty

Locum Team Leader

Liz received a certificate in law and an Honours degree in Social Care Practice in Athlone IT. Liz has worked in community practice for four years and joined YAP in 2015, firstly as an advocate before taking up her new role.

Liz is now a team leader and is responsible for service delivery in the Galway/ Roscommon area and for the direct line management of Advocates. Liz is based in the Galway Office.

Brenda Kennedy

Team Leader

Brenda received an honours degree in Social Care Practice in Athlone IT in 2008 before going on to work with vulnerable children and families in residential care for several years. While working in residential care Brenda completed her masters in Family Support in NUIG, graduating in Nov 2015. Brenda joined YAP in May 2015, firstly as a Locum Team Leader before accepting a full time position in December 2015. Brenda is responsible for service delivery in the Midlands region and for the direct line management of Advocates. 

Brenda has a love for animals and enjoys walking her dog Pepper

Karen Williams

Team Leader

Karen has been with YAP since 2006 working firstly as an Advocate before joining YAP full-time. Karen is a Team Leader and she is responsible for service delivery in the Cavan/Monaghan area and for the direct line management of Advocates. Karen is based in the Cavan Office.

Katie Bird

Team Leader

Katie has been working with YAP since 2009, working first as an Advocate for two years before coming to work full-time in the Dublin region. Katie is currently working as a Team Leader for Dublin North and the North East based in the Meath office. Katie has extensive experience of working with young people, people with disabilities and the elderly. Katie has recently taken lead responsibility for managing the disability service provision programme for the Dublin North/North East regions.

In her spare time Katie enjoys socialising, keeping fit and music.

Cathrena Murray

Team Leader

Cathrena took up the position of Team Leader in February 2016. Cathrena is responsible for service delivery in the Meath region and for the direct line management of Advocates. Cathrena has worked in the Social Care Sector since 2009 with the vast majority of experience working with young people living in a residential setting.

Cathrena is a GAA fan, football and hurling...she's waiting for Sam to come home! In her spare time she enjoys socialising with friends and family and travelling whenever she gets the chance

Shay O'Driscoll

Service Manager South Region

Shay is Service Manager for the South Region. He joined YAP in January 2013 and has extensive experience including many years working in residential care, working with disability and working with youth in the United States.

Shay has served with the Defence Forces in Lebanon and also USED to be a brown belt in Karate.

Serena Holmes

Team Leader

Serena joined YAP in 2009 as a Team Leader in the Limerick project. Serena is responsible for service delivery in the Limerick, Clare and North Tipperary areas and for the direct line management of Advocates. Serena has many years experience working with Children, Youth and within the Community having previously worked in various family support/community support settings. Serena has an MA Sociology and a BA History, Politics and Social Studies.

Serena is a dab hand with an orchid or a rose bush in her spare time and always enjoys great views as one of our tallest team members!

Annmarie Coughlan

Team Leader

Annmarie has been with YAP since 2010. As a Team Leader Annmarie is responsible for service delivery in the Limerick and North Tipperary areas and for the direct line management of Advocates.

Annmarie is based in the Limerick Office.

Alexandra Dougall

Locum Team Leader

Alexandra worked for several years in the Canadian Child Protection Service before moving to Ireland in 2005 to work in special care. She has many years experience working cross culturally with Children and Families. Alexandra took up the position of Locum Team Leader in in August 2015 and is responsible for service delivery in the Limerick/Tipperary and Kerry regions and for the direct line management of Advocates.

Amanda James

Team Leader

Amanda joined the YAP Ireland team in January 2013 as Team Leader in Cork. Being a born rebel and after 6 years working in Limerick she was delighted to head back home.  Amanda has over 11 years’ experience in working with young people and families both in residential care and community work.

In her spare time she loves going to the gym and catching up with friends. Amanda can play the bagpipes, has a slight obsession with superhero movies and has been known to watch WWE wrestling on a Friday night.

Jean Kenneally

Locum Team Leader

Jean took the position of Locum Team Leader in October 2016 after working previously as an Advocate. Jean is responsible for service delivery in the Cork region and for the direct line management of Advocates.
